PDSnet Installation Instructions

Access via a Web Browser is slow compared to using the FirstClass Client. Download the First Class Client here. After downloading the program, follow these instructions:

1.      Run the program you downloaded from the internet. If you are using a PC, it will be called something like FC11005US.exe for a PC or  FC11005.dmg for a Mac.

2.      Follow the instructions that the setup program dictates

3.      The installer should create a shortcut on your desktop to run the FirstClass client. Double-click on this shortcut to open the FirstClass client.

4.      Once in FirstClass, the first thing you want to do is setup the program to connect to PDSnet. After the FirstClass logo disappears, a login window will appear on your screen. Click on the "Advanced" button, and then Click the button labeled "Setup...".  The window shown below will appear.

6.      Fill in the server blank with "mail.pds.org".

7.      Click the "Save" button in the lower right hand corner of the Service Setup window.

8.      Now, you are back in the login window. Type in your username and password (provided to you in the beginning of the year by Mr. Atkeson and the SysOps; e-mail Mr Atkeson if you don't have a PDSnet account) in the blanks (shown below)

9.      After typing in your User ID and Password in the blanks, click the green button with the white arrow when you are ready to connect to PDSnet.
