Research Links from the Research Experts
Ms.Misch

The PDS Libraries subscribe to online encyclopedias and databases for use by the PDS community. These are edited by experts and you can rely on the information to be accurate.  At school, Lower School students can select one of the following sources or can click here for access to all the school databases.  Ask your librarian for user name & password if researching from home.

Library Catalog - Did you know?  You can find books in all 3 PDS libraries here AND safe links to information, too!  Choose books that start with a LS call number.

Encyclopedia Britannica - 72,000 full text articles, illustrations, maps, and links.

Grolier Encyclopedias
- New Book of Knowledge, Encyclopedia Americana, Grolier Multimedia, Lands & Peoples, and Popular Science.

World Book Encyclopedia -
Three levels of encyclopedia, plus a Spanish encyclopedia.

CultureGrams - Reports on 200 countries, the US states & Canadian provinces.

EbscoHost - searches magazines. LS students should select Searchasaurus or KidSearch.

SIRS - Social Issues Resources Services. Lower School students should choose SIRS Discover.

Wilson Biographies
- Find information about famous people.

Cautionary Thoughts - Remember, anyone can post anything they want to on the Internet so you should be careful to figure out who has written the information and if/why they are an expert in their field.  Look at the host of the site and decide if you can rely on their information.
