About
the People in the Library
I have lots of volunteers to help in the library. Each person
commits
to a two-hour shift once a week, though some share a time slot and
comes every other week. Most are LS moms, but there are a few
dads,
too. I've even had some grandparents and upper school students
help
out. One mom still helps even though her youngest child is in 8th
grade! If you would like to sign up to
volunteer, email me, please!
About Me
Name: Jenny Mischner, M.L.S.
Birthday: July - When I was in 2nd grade I thought
that the school
provided all those cupcakes and didn't understand why we summer
birthday kids were ignored! In June of that year, my friend's mom
organized a summer birthdays party and then I realized that it was the
parents who brought in those cupcakes!! Let's hear it for
half-birthday celebrations!

Fun Facts
I collect watermelons because my aunt and uncle have the Guinness World
Record (2005) for the largest watermelon ever grown (268.8 pounds) at
their farm in
Hope, Arkansas. Their website is
Giant Watermelons.
I've even been to
their
Watermelon
Festival. My kitchen is filled with over 100
watermelon things!
I ride my bike to school when the weather permits and I love to walk
which is why I live around the corner from Nassau Street. You
will see
me walking my dog, a bichon frisee named Darcy.
We call her a
perma-puppy because she looks and acts like a puppy even though she is
8 years old. My daughter gave her focus speech about Darcy
when she
was in 8th grade.
